The Mission

Recent evidence supports the immense benefits that dance can provide to patients with dementia and memory loss disorders.

Dance movement therapy (DMT) allows older patients to recall memories linked to movement and music, simultaneously reducing anxiety and helping them open up in their communities. In addition to these psychological benefits, recent studies have highlighted that dance can promote neuroplasticity and neuronal connectivity.

Therefore, at Dance for Dementia, we implement our carefully curated dances with the goal of providing these benefits first-hand. One move at a time, we aim to improve memory, enhance mobility, and reverse aging in seniors with diverse neurological conditions (including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease).
